Bending the rules

IT’S a bit rich hearing that the EU Court of Auditors finds Kevin Cardiff possibly inappropriate as a new member of the team.

I seem to recall that Marta Andreasen was appointed to clean up the cumulative bad practices of the EU, but apparently, fell foul of Neil Kinnock who saw little inappropriate with the out-of-control lobby scandal. Of course, we’ll never know as that scandal was investigated by members of the same court, behind closed doors.

No doubt whatever decision is made in respect of Mr Cardiff’s appointment, the decision will come from an EU already associated with bending the rules.
