Lack of moral courage

WATCHING Monday night’s RTÉ programme on the Cowen government reminded me of when,as a young boy, I used to read how the former German generals told us that they were all only following orders.

Messrs Curran, O’Dea, O’Rourke, Ryan and Hanafin all gave their side of the story. But what disturbed me most was that not one of them had the moral courage at the time to say enough was enough.

Yet they all took their fat pensions. In times of crisis, we ask so much of people who are meant to be leaders. This cringing shower were despicable. I was so upset after listening to this rubbish and how our children and their children will have to pay for this.
