Everybody head for the lifeboats

FOLLOWING the rejection of the referendum on Dáil investigations, it strikes me that a lot more than bankers, ex-attorneys general and politicians were scared witless about being called to account for their actions, however unlikely that event might be.

Regarding recent events, it would appear that Bob Dylan was being more than prescient when he penned the words ‘The Titanic sails at dawn’ and ‘Everybody’s shouting which side are you on’?

I’m afraid we have hit the iceberg and it’s everybody to the lifeboat(s); it’s not going to be an orderly queue.
