Polling day debacle fuels apathy

POLLING day is set for Thursday, October 27th and this scandalous decision is the major source of my frustration and angst.

Firstly, I recall current government TDs expressing their own frustration and angst when their predecessors had overseen Thursday being chosen as voting day in the past.

This choice is fundamentally anti-democratic. The situation will prevent huge numbers of students and those who had to relocate for work being afforded the opportunity to vote.
