Women have the power

CLARE Treacy (Letters, Oct 13) highlights the fact that one of the women candidates (Mary Davis) in the presidential election has been tagged with an offensive nickname “quango queen”.

That combined with the objection by many commentators to having “another Mary in the Park” is rightly classified by Clare Treacy as “sexist”.

The most effective answer to this is for women, who are the majority in the electorate, to give the two fingers to the misogynists and vote another Mary into the park.
