Blame church leaders

IN response to Fr Magillicuddy’s (Letters, Sept 14), the good priests of the Catholic church are not under fire, it’s the leaders of the church for ignoring the problem of child abuse and moving the problem priests instead of taking them to task and reporting them to the gardaí.

Everyone knows that there are good priests but what is the media and the public supposed to do, ignore the problem just because there are some good people out there? They have a right to be outraged. The good priests should be taking their leaders to task for the problems that they’ve caused and not blaming the media or society.
