Wearing burka an insult to Irish people

I AGREE completely with Cork Councillor Joe O’Callaghan’s motion to outlaw the wearing of burkas.

Wearing burka an insult to Irish people

The wearing of this garment by Muslim women is intended as a slap in the face to the Irish people.

It says “we are not the same as you and do not wish to be integrated into your society. We will live by our own laws.”

This attitude should never be allowed. Ireland is Ireland, a Christian country, not Saudi Arabia or Iran.

Those who wish to impose their religious laws on Ireland must be made to understand that the only law in Ireland is that of the Irish state.
