Irish media balance

I AM absolutely astounded by Terry Prone’s article (August 1) in which she protests that the media is so “balanced” on American affairs that the public is “confused.”

Irish media balance

The US media, is largely pro-Democrat, and anti-Republican, and Irish media largely reflects this. I read your newspaper daily, but I cannot recall a single article or opinion piece critical of President Obama in the past three years. Ms Prone continues this bias in the name of “balance.”

While laying the blame solely at the feet of the Republicans for America’s current budgetary difficulties, she completely fails to acknowledge Obama’s role, whereby he recklessly increased expenditure to the tune of trillions over Republican objections which has led directly to the current crisis. Obama chose to extend both Bush’s wars, and Bush’s tax cuts. Quoting Paul Krugman in the name of “balance” is laughable. He is a completely partisan Democrat. Irish media commentary on the US is blinded by its own bias.
