Church ignored rights of all living children

ALMOST a week on from the release of the Cloyne report I have begun to think, Bishop Magee and others were perhaps the nation’s staunchest defenders of the “rights of the unborn child”.

How is it therefore that they gave so little care in the rights of living children for whom they had a duty of care?

It is mind-boggling that no priests have been excommunicated for child molestation, however, when Sister McBride, who allowed an abortion necessary to save the mother’s life, was.

I believe that the very future of the Catholic Church globally is in doubt until these double standards are remedied most severely.
