No right to cry foul

IT seems that Enda might have made promises that he couldn’t keep during the election campaign.

It is alleged that he promised to maintain emergency department services at Roscommon County Hospital.

In the recording taken by The Sunday Business Post, Mr Kenny encouraged the people of Roscommon to vote for local Fine Gael candidates Frank Feighan and Denis Naughten, and promised to maintain the hospital services.

Fianna Fáil leader Micheal Martin is taking a stance of righteous indignation, calling for the Taoiseach to clear the air.

It must be remembered that it was Mr Martin’s Fianna Fáil that left the country in such a state.

So Enda Kenny made a grandiose promise that he can’t keep — so what? Granted cutting health services to service the bank bailout is utterly disgraceful, but for Fianna Fáil to now cry foul is utterly reprehensible.
