TOM KINDLON (May 7) complains about “gender discrimination against male candidates” in political party selections. Where has he being living? The Dáil has been more than 90% male since 1922.

It is still little less than 90% now.

If gender discrimination is to become an issue in politics it is the under-representation of women and not discrimination against male candidates that is the glaring example.
