Paying for garden is blooming mad

SO, we’ve won the Carling Cup, the Heineken Cup, we’ve had the Queen and President Obama to make us all feel so happy and confident that now we can wait for the tourists to arrive and all will be well.

Paying for garden is blooming mad

God help us. On the other side of the coin, the taxpayers, thanks to Minister Leo Varadkar, are now picking up a tab of €2 million for a garden in the Chelsea Flower Show. Am I the only one in Ireland who has not got a brain big enough to understand how this TD has the audacity of making this decision on our behalf to okay this money being spent.

The proud people of Cork should dwell on why your city fathers are sanctioning the expenditure of this sort of money.

Would the people of Cork also like to explain to the rest of the country where you intend hanging this garden, hopefully not so high as to prohibit the dogs of Cork from using it.

At least let it have a real function? This country is rapidly becoming a total joke, a farce and a place where any self-respecting individual would really have to question why they continue to live here.
