Hostage to warmongers

IT IS difficult to understand how a man of such enormous energy, charisma and personal magnetism as Barack Obama, billed as “the most powerful man in the world”, is unable to overcome the malign forces pitted against him in his own country.

How sad it is that a man of such ability and promise with the potential for so much good in the world can be ruled by his puppeteers in the real corridors of power in the USA. It is easy to win the hearts and minds of the people of Ireland, but, if he is to do so in his own land and across the wider world, he will need to display the personal courage and bravery of that great black American icon, Dr Martin Luther King.

If “the most powerful man in the world” cannot control the warmongers in his own backyard what hope is left for our sick and suffering world?
