Kenny deserves praise for heartfelt speech
Shaun Connolly (May 25) had a dig at the Taoiseach for his perceived ‘over-the-top’ speech in College Green during the fleeting visit of President Barack Obama.
I could never be accused of being a Fine Gael or Kenny supporter, but I take my hat off to him for his heartfelt speech to Obama and the people of Ireland.
Mr Kenny often comes across as wooden while speaking in public and this has been true on occasion, but the Taoiseach must be commended on his statesman-like attitude during the recent visit of Queen Elizabeth of England and his from-the-heart speech.
