A lesson in some harsh political reality

WELL done to all who cast their vote last week and are heady with excitement at having backed a winner — in truth, you could hardly have done otherwise.

A lesson in some harsh political reality

Your first lesson in political reality is coming up: that is to learn there are no winners in politics apart from politicians.

The next lesson to accept the definition of a politician: an inadequate person pursuing a position of self-importance. Bereft of talent, as most are, it is the only route open to them. Like running off to join a circus, no previous experience needed. Being of generous heart and having given trust to a candidate or candidates for the first time, be prepared for disappointment. Your vote was a protest vote. You voted against that which you know by voting for that which you don’t know.
