Bad deal for taxpayers

NAMA’s chairman said that the agency recovered all of its costs on the sale of the Montevetro building to Google for €99.9m.

But hold the celebration and the bonuses. If the transaction incurred the typical Nama haircut of 40%, then the original loan was €167m, and the taxpayer has lost €67m on the deal.
