There are thousands of people needing professional counselling and the numbers of self-harming people unable to receive treatment or counselling is an indicator to even the dogs in the street that something is not right here. Many elderly folk end their lives and are not included in the statistics, understandably, because GPs suggest the death was an accidental overdose or similar.

The question is, what are we and what are successive governments doing about it as they save money by laying staff off or not recruiting?
