REMEMBER the joke, what’s the difference between Ireland and Iceland?

One letter! Guess what? The punch line has changed, it’s now two letters: E U! The Icelanders jettisoned the banks and bondholders and are now on the road to recovery. We, in contrast, are being forced by the EU (not the IMF) to bail out the foreign bondholders. We face a generation of hardship, emigration and bankruptcy.
