Our most vulnerable citizens never had it so bad

I HAVE come to the conclusion that the relationship the Government has with the voter is of a sado-masochistic nature.

The more they beat and abuse us, the more we craves such mistreatment. How else can one explain the fact that they are riding high in the polls?

Young children whose parents are forced to work are denied adequate contact with their primary carers.

Their older brothers and sisters have to endure a dinosaur educational system. Sick relatives get sicker and their grandparents live in mortal fear that they will be incarcerated in the equivalent of Leas Cross.

God help any of them who may have any form of mental disability.

However, the Government will tell us we have never had it so good. From an economic point of view, one can’t deny that fact, but from a social perspective, we are disintegrating.

It’s not unlikely that a century from now, historians will look back and identify the Government’s total allegiance to market forces above all else as the reason we lost our ability to care for each other and especially for so many vulnerable fellow citizens.
