Let’s get real and end ‘celebrity’ nonsense

MAUREEN O’Donnell got it smack on with her ‘’Do you know who I am syndrome’ letter (November 9), as did Richard Duncliff with his letter headlined ‘Celebrity glut’ in the same issue. We seem to have an infatuation with celebrity status or celebrities.

TV is worst of all with Celebrity Bainisteoir, Celebrity Jigs and Reels, Celebrity Chef, etc., etc.

The same people are doing the rounds all the time and while viewers are spellbound by these stupid shows, the country is going down the Swanee.

So let’s get rid of this celebrity business once and for all and face up to some reality.
