Now may we have the President’s views on FF?

SPEAKING recently at a conference of the Institute for Public Administration, President Mary McAleese stated, quite correctly, that we “should rigorously address any form of persistent under-performance in the public service and that tolerance of any under-performance was very damaging in reputational terms”.

Interestingly, she also correctly stated that “it only takes one careless person, one nasty person, one person to give the whole team a bad name”.

While addressing such remarks at the soft target of the public service, what a pity the President didn’t more appropriately proffer such apt insights about her friends in the Fianna Fáil party.
