Independent TDs are the real opportunists

IN his letter (October 13), Alastair White has yet another swipe at the Greens, calling them opportunists for having some influence in government based on a 3% share of the national vote.

If Mr White was fair he would not berate the Greens, who at least have a national basis for their claim to make a contribution.

He would be targeting the real opportunists, the so-called independents who have a single constituency dynasty and can use and abuse that in a close parliament for unfair advantage for one small area of the country over the general good. So less anti-Green bias please, Mr White, and apply your criticism more fairly.
