Women who stand by the church offended

THE letter from Anne-Marie Desmond (September 25) about the ordination of women made my blood boil.

Women who stand by the church offended

How dare she say that those of us women who stand by the church’s teaching are elderly, pre-Vatican II people who never worked outside the home, as if it was some sort of a crime to be elderly, pre-Vatican II or stay-at-home carers.

With one stroke of her pen she has offended the vast majority of women in this country.

Ms Desmond then goes on to add insult to injury by implying we are also an uneducated, untalented and unenterprising bunch of women.

And she has the gall to accuse us (those of us whom she declares are outside her loop) of promoting double standards and abuses.

In Christian charity might I suggest she take the plank out of her own eye before she tries to take the splinter out of the eyes of those of us with whom she can’t see eye-to-eye?
