Hospital staff brighten a family’s dark days

WE wish to express our sincere gratitude to all at Cork University Hospital where our father passed away recently following an accident. From the moment the ambulance arrived to the moment he breathed his last four weeks later, the level of care and compassion continued to astound and uplift us even during those dark days.

The competence and dedication with which the ambulance drivers, the A&E team, the intensive therapy units (both cardiac and general), the staff of GA Ward (neuro), the palliative team, housekeepers and cleaners undertook their roles was incredible.

There was not one moment when we had to ask for extra attention or care for our father. It was evident at all times that his every need was being anticipated by the amazing doctors and nurses attending to him. The way in which they also helped us, his family, through this time will never be forgotten.

While hoping never to encounter such days again, we believe we are truly fortunate there is such a competent and professional resource available to all.
