FÁS name change just painting over the cracks

SO they want to change the name of FÁS. Are they stark raving mad, or do they think we are stupid? Name changes were the tactics used for Windscale nuclear plant (to Sellafield) and Long Kesh (The Maze) after their reputations were tarnished.

Painting over the cracks will achieve nothing.

I am an admirer of the work done by FÁS over many years and I have been a beneficiary of their excellent courses. But this proposal of a name change is from the loony department. Imagine the cost of changing every piece of paper, every sign and all course literature just to have a new name. New logos and reams of PR bunkum that will be devised by teams of consultants and cost millions.

Please, would someone in government stop this nonsense of pouring money down the drain. Fix FÁS where it needs fixing and don’t allow them try to fool us into believing that changing the colour will change the shape.
