I WISH to congratulate Fr Eamonn McCarthy for his inspiring letter (August 30) concerning the best way to prevent sexually transmitted diseases like HPV which is linked to cervical cancer.

The Gardasil vaccine isn’t the answer. It has never been proven to prevent cancer and may only replace one cause of cancer with another.

Neither has it been adequately tested on young girls.
