Siege mentality

SO your columnist Stephen King (June 9) couldn’t bring himself to condemn Israel’s latest acts of murder, kidnapping and piracy.

Yet he could describe the voluntary aid workers who tried to break the blockade around Gaza as a “ship of fools” and “useful idiots”, etc.

Coming from the unionist community as he does, perhaps Mr King identifies with the siege mentality of Israeli leaders. Perhaps he has also one other thing in common with Israeli securicrats — it is they who are the fools if they can’t see there are many more Rachel Corries to come.
