Rat poison was used to kill rare birds

IN his letter (May 31), Jim O’Toole of Bord Bia helpfully indicates that they require control of rodents but that control methods that do not involve the use of poison are acceptable.

He suggests that recent wildlife poisonings did not involve rat poison.

Recent press reports and information on the website of the Golden Eagle Trust indicates that a golden eagle, four white-tailed eagles, five red kites, three buzzards and one peregrine falcon have been killed by Alphachloralose.
