Democracy postponed

WORDS of wisdom from by Cal Hyland (‘Political savings’, Letters, May 20) when he suggested it was in the public interest for the three national by-elections not to go ahead.

We can’t afford them, he suggested.

In that case, perhaps all future elections in this state should be cancelled.
