Offensive term
It is a gratuitous and racist insult to the peoples of the countries concerned – one of which is Ireland.
It’s bad enough when it’s used in the British and other foreign media, but it’s 10 times worse when it’s used by the media of one of these countries when they are, in effect, insulting their own people.
Acronyms like this are a symptom of lazy journalism and do nothing to promote a coherent analysis of the current economic situation and how we might resolve it.
