Cardinal victim of media witch-hunt

The recent melee concerning Cardinal Brady has a whiff of sulphur about it. It is more than a decade ago since it was first reported that the then Fr Seán Brady was a recording secretary at a meeting concerning the heinous abuses of Brendan Smyth.

Nothing new has since come to light through the endeavours of our intrepid journalists. Why then this current rerun through the media of the debacle some 13 years later?

If one has the courage to act in a decidedly un-Irish fashion and resist joining the mob after examining the facts, the situation becomes clear. The most recent attempt to ruin one of our most righteous men has become nothing more than the usual fodder, a politically motivated witch-hunt.
