End the Good Friday drink ban

I WELCOME the decision of Judge Tom O’Donnell to grant an exemption to certain Limerick publicans from the Good Friday licensing laws.

I would however be even happier to see this Good Friday licensing condition removed from the statute books altogether.

As a priest of the Church of Ireland I am convinced no religion should have its devotional practices enshrined in secular law.
