Help people in debt

THE average worker is forced to feel too grateful for having work. It is damaging to be unemployed, but even worse to expend effort for next to nothing.

If even €10 per hr would be too little, the minimum wage should be left alone. It is of course easy to pick on workers who are largely women, have no protection and can’t play the strike card. Condemning people to work for little more than they would get on the dole will force them into debt they can’t pay. I have not yet heard of a NAMA for those who are poorly paid and in debt.
