SO Mary Hanafin proposes cutting lone parent allowances once a child reaches 13 years. If people cannot regulate their own reproduction, this should not be the state’s problem.

I would not pay any lone mother a penny until fathers are forced to make contributions to their children’s welfare. We put such women into Magdalene laundries once. We are now paying them to become social welfare careerists.
