Season’s greetings - Merry Christmas

The Irish Examiner would like to wish everyone the compliments of the season.

2009 has truly been a remarkable year. Whether it was the gloom of the recession turning into a depression, the chronic procrastination of political leaders, the behaviour of bankers and bishops, the lack of a real summer, or the autumn and winter deluge, we can take solace from the fact the year is almost behind us.

However, even in the midst of the worst gloom we must remember that there are others who have had to endure so much more. This may not provide us solace, but it is a reminder that we still have a lot to be thankful for.
