Crucifix ruling nothing to do with the EU

IN his letter (November 11), Nick Folley says that the recent decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on crucifixes in Italian schools is an example of another absurd ruling from the EU.

The ECHR is not an institution of the European Union, it is connected with the Council of Europe which has no relationship to the EU.

The court is an international judicial body established under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) of 1950 to monitor respect for human rights by states.
