AS the Junior Certificate exam serves no purpose in terms of practical learning, it is best to abolish it now.

Young students will be more anxious about job prospects in the future, so their own resourcefulness needs to be encouraged. They can hardly rely on a jobs task force which only meets once a year.

FÁS, like the Junior Cert, will also hopefully be abolished in a year’s time.
