Politicians fail to get the safety message

THE proposed legislation to reduce the alcohol limit for drivers is most welcome. It is surprising that politicians haven’t got the message that has been persistently communicated to us by the Road Safety Authority over the years: if you drink, you don’t drive.

Politicians fail to get the safety message

There should be zero tolerance of drink-driving with no room for ambiguity. Our politicians need to show leadership and endorse responsible drinking and road safety. Surely any measure that reduces the carnage on the roads is a welcome addition to changing our problematic drinking culture.
