Cork seek rerun for right result

CORK GAA fans are demanding a win in the rerun of the All-Ireland football final scheduled to take place next week.

The rerun comes after a four-point swing to an arrogant, elitist and power-hungry Kerry team last Sunday.

A disgruntled Cork supporter said Kerry players and spectators had not learned the rules of the game and that, apart from anything else, a rerun would help create much needed employment.

It would also ensure that the “real capital” would be brought in from the periphery and would place its passionate army of supporters at the heart of the game. The rules had not been debated in full beforehand and the Kerry players didn’t fully know what they were doing, he claimed. The Cork fan went on to warn about the possible consequences of defeat for the Rebel county next week. “There is very real chance that, unless we win, the future of the All-Ireland itself could be at stake. Counties that don’t let us win could be barred from taking part in the competition, with dire consequences.”

Kerry players and spectators have been given reassurances about provisions in the current GAA rulebook, for example when frees should be awarded.
