Irish shoppers have been robbed for years

I HAD to laugh recently when I heard a Dublin publican complaining about not being able to lower his price to €4 a pint in the afternoons.

l have lived in Scotland for the past few years.

A week ago I had a pint of Guinness in a pub in central Glasgow. Cost? £2 (€2.28).

People are being robbed across the board in Ireland for years. Last Christmas, Debenhams and Clarks were typically 50% more expensive on the euro cost for their goods compared to the sterling equivalent.

But what can you expect from a country in which a former political leader robbed it for years, enriching himself to the tune of millions with near impunity?

And where the so-called opposition kept stum out of fear their own dirty dealings would be revealed?
