The only bank that’s worth nationalising

IN my humble opinion the only bank the Government should nationalise is the Porcupine Bank, which is worth some €10 trillion in oil, gas, precious metals, fish and the other potentials for wind and sea energy.

It is folly for any government to give away for nothing its natural heritage and expect the poor of Ireland then to bail out big business because of serious errors caused by greed and lust for power. If a government was worth its salt, it would use, effectively and efficiently, all that natural wealth that belongs to Ireland, abolish personal income tax and reduce VAT to 5%.

It can and should be done in the next budget.
