Four reasons not to honour Robinson
I have long felt that four actions in her public life would have made anyone wary of giving her even the time of day.
1. As president, when others refused to do so, she shook hands with the IRA’s Gerry Adams, with the lame excuse that he offered his hand to her. A gentleman would know he should never offer his hand to a lady. The action must be initiated by a lady who would know that, under those circumstances, she is more than entitled to reject the hand.
