Carbon tax is a fraud in a cooling atmosphere

IT seems that due to the recession, where everybody accepts new taxes as a given, a carbon tax is now almost certain to be thrown for good measure.

Media coverage is focusing primarily on the much-needed income that will be generated to avoid the inevitable fine due to legally binding EU agreements. Let’s not forget why this new tax is ostensibly being introduced ... to stop the “man-made global warming crisis”.

However, fact is far more convincing than fiction and all the recorded data shows the earth has now cooled back down to the 30-year average, according to NASA’s Aqua satellite — one of the four main measurements of world temperature. There has been no warming for the third year in a row in this country, and that’s preceded by our coldest winter for 30 years.

New studies are coming out nearly every week debunking the pseudo-science that is man-made global warming. That is why the term has conveniently been replaced by “climate change”. Quite cunning really because the climate always changes. According to an Australian study just released (Journal of Geophysical Research, vol 114, 2009), little or none of the late 20th century global warming and cooling can be attributed to human activity. They find that the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is a key indicator of global atmospheric temperatures seven months later. As an additional influence, intermittent volcanic activity injects cooling aerosols into the atmosphere.

If we allow this incompetent government to pass a carbon tax, it will set a dangerous precedent as literally all forms of human activity and consumption will then be open to taxation. Let’s not forget we exhale CO2

The Irish economy and thousands of households are already on the edge. This will surely push us all off it by further stalling growth and production.

Oppose this fraudulent carbon tax.
