Kicking the church

AFTER reading your anti-Catholic feature (‘Faithfully departed’, July 16), I must respond. I’ve always thought those who leave the church because of the evil wrongdoing of a tiny minority never wanted to be in it in the first place.

Kicking the church

It’s easy to be a kneejerk reactionary who tars everyone with the same brush. No one in their right mind thinks the Catholic Church condones child abuse of any sort. People in the church have apologised profusely and paid compensation for deeds that they as individuals had no hand, act or part in.

Do you think we, the Catholic people, are any worse off for losing such conceited, self-centred individuals?
