Unjust proposal

THE proposal by Dr Florence Craven (Letters, July 7) to grade welfare payments is totally unjust.

She wants to punish the genuine person who has worked, paid taxes and saved money for retirement.

She wants to continue to support the individual who has possibly never worked, lived off the state, supported by the very person Dr Craven wants to deny a social welfare payment now that he or she has a few thousand in the bank.

It really makes you think why we should get up for work.
