Young ‘pensioner’

SOME of your readers have expressed dismay that it requires legislation to amend the excessive salary and benefits paid to ministers and TDs.

I agree. It is even more shocking that my student daughter doing a three-week cleaning assignment at Trinity College Dublin, earning €285 per week, was charged the public service pension levy on this amount. When I queried this I was astounded to be told it was correct.
