Ordinary citizens want the Government out now

THE question for at least 25 Government TDs, and certainly 16 senators, is not whether but when they will face the final, lethal electoral bloodbath.

The voters have sent an absolutely unambiguous message whether or not the so-called political class (and much of the commentariat) can or wish to hear it.

The Plain People of Ireland (PP of I) have done a managerial audit and given “this crowd” a full year (in the middle of a hurricane) to come up with the goods. Did you hear the one they are telling in the world’s money markets about the “Oirish” finance minister who thought up a crucial banking strategy – but omitted to tell the guy who was going to supervise it? So that in Dr Michael Somers’s own words, he had to “read about it in the newspapers”.
