Spoiling the view

HAVING decided to take the scenic route home after the Cork v Tipperary hurling match in Thurles last Sunday, we travelled through Clogheen by way of the Vee. A perfect day, the views were fabulous, but the litter thrown down below the lay-by was unbelievable.

Not one litter bin was available at this viewing point, so it wasn’t very convenient to dispose of food wrappings, bottles, etc, except to bring them home — which people seemed reluctant to do. Has civic pride gone out the window?
