Brewery ‘eyesore' should be removed

IT would be fine gesture for the further enhancement of Cork city if Heineken were to demolish the awful eyesore that is the Beamish brewery with the exception of the Counting House which is a listed building.

Having demolished it, if they did nothing else except make a lawn of the site with seating, it would go some way towards complementing the wonderful works that are Clarkes Bridge, South Gate Bridge, Elizabeth Fort and St Finbarre’s Cathedral.

To view the site from Wandsfort Quay is stomach-turning.
