Cullen’s trip highlights rail policy blunder
If instead of destroying three-quarters of Ireland’s railways half a century ago we had spent some of the money squandered on roads on modernisation and expansion, he would have been able to do the trip by TGV (high speed train) at 300km/h, somewhat quicker than by helicopter, which can only manage a measly 250km/h, and for a for a tiny fraction of the cost.
